NEUTROGENA 29% U.S. SALES GROWTH IN THE THIRD QUARTER was due, in part, to "particularly strong increases for the new HeatSafe hair protection product, as well as strong growth for the acne and suncare brands," Neutrogena Chairman and CEO Lloyd Cotsen said Aug. 16. U.S. sales for the three months ended July 31 were $63 mil., representing the majority -- 81.7% -- of the overall sales of $77.6 mil., which were ahead 25.9%. HeatSafe, an instant heat- activated hair treatment, launched in February ("The Rose Sheet" Jan. 3, p. 15).
