Executive Summary
Food & Nutrition Board's Subcommittee on Upper Reference Levels of Nutrients to hold workshop Jan. 21 to address establishing upper levels of intake (UL) for nutrients for which there are little data. The meeting will take place in the National Academy of Sciences building at 2101 Constitution Ave., Washington, D.C. The next group of nutrients to be reviewed by FNB's panels is micronutrients, including vitamins A and K, iron, zinc, chromium and nickel. Micronutrient panel members are being selected now. The report from the panel setting dietary intake values for antioxidants is due to be released in September 1999 ("The Tan Sheet" Aug. 3, pp. 1-5)
