President Bush’s antiregulation bill
Executive Summary
During a campaign stop at the medical device company Stryker in Kalamazoo, Mich. on March 13, the President said he will introduce "reform legislation to correct unreasonable rules we can't change simply through executive action." He says the proposal will be unveiled after expiration of the 90-day regulatory freeze imposed in his Jan. 28 State of the Union address. Bush added that "over-regulation" in the U.S. is a serious threat to the strong competitive position the U.S. medical technology segment now holds in world markets.
