Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo Is Incoming Chair At AdvaMed
AdvaMed's next board chair will be Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo, who will fill the leadership role beginning next March, when current chair Nadim Yared's two-year tenure is over. Lobo pledged to to work to improve diversity in industry.

Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo says while repeal of the medical device tax is his top issue, there are four main priorities he wants to work on over the next two years as industry advocate group AdvaMed’s board chair. They include better public engagement, increased advocacy work with the new Congress, advancing new technology – especially start-ups – and increasing diversity in the medtech industry.
MedTech Color is focused on enhancing diversity in the device and diagnostics space and increasing thought leadership opportunities for people of color in the industry. The organization held a launch event at this year's MedTech Conference in Philadelphia, where Medtech Insight caught up with founder Kwame Ulmer.
Industry veteran Kwame Ulmer has cobbled together a new group to help address perceived racial disparities at device firms. "MedTech Color" has already attracted attention from heavy-hitters Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, 3M and Danaher, as well as industry advocacy group AdvaMed.
