As a new year approaches, negotiations over the forthcoming EU medtech regulations still remain inconclusive, causing significant concern within the industry. However, Rob ten Hoedt, chairman of EU medtech industry association Eucomed and of the device and diagnostics industry alliance MedTech Europe, urges companies not to get too hung up on the regulatory aspects. Instead, they need to look at the bigger picture and think more strategically about how they can transform healthcare. Only then can they capitalize on the huge opportunity that lies before them.
