DePuy Synthes has signed a five-year co-operation agreement with the AO Foundation to help boost the orthopedics group’s credibility and raise awareness of its new products through the latter’s global network of surgeons. The AO Foundation is a medically-guided non-profit organization that aims to educate and promote innovative surgical technologies and methodologies to surgeons worldwide through its educational programs. Through this collaboration, new products that emerge from DePuy Synthes’ portfolio – and certified by the AO Technical Commission – will be used in AO educational activities; over 200,000 health care professionals are expected to participate in AO program globally over the next five years, according to DePuy Synthes. The AO Foundation has already had a long-standing partnership with Synthes prior to the company’s acquisition by DePuy in 2012.
