Italian orthopedic firm Lima has agreed to buy certain assets from Zimmer and Biomet, clearing the way for the latter two firms to merge. Udine-based Lima will purchase Zimmer’s unicompartmental high flex knee (ZUK) and Biomet’s Discovery elbow system within the European Economic Area and Switzerland, as well as gaining Biomet’s Vanguard complete knee system for Denmark and Sweden.
