Executive Summary
July saw 21 medtech venture financing deals of over $1m, just a slight improvement on June’s 20 deals but a stark contrast to the 35 recorded in the same month last year (see Figure 1). Contributing to the year-over-year shortfall in deal volume is the dearth of small, $10m-and-under deals; there were only nine such transactions last month, compared to 24 a year ago.
