Medtronic has said it is buying wireless patch developer Corventis, confirming rumors in May that it was pursuing the cardiovascular monitoring start-up. Michael Coyle, president of Medtronic’s cardiac and vascular group, announced the acquisition at the company’s analyst meeting on 5 June. He didn’t say how much the firm is paying for Corventis, but a figure of $150m was bandied about in media reports last month.
