The European Commission and the Scientific Committee on Emerging Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) have launched a public consultation on the latter’s 66-page preliminary opinion on “the safety of metal-on-metal joint replacements with a particular focus on hip implants”. The deadline for written comments from the scientific community and other stakeholders is 25 April.
