Executive Summary
Biological implant specialist RTI Biologics is moving into metal and synthetic implants by agreeing to acquire Pioneer Surgical Technology for $130 million in cash. As well as expanding RTI’s portfolio, the deal will also help it grow its direct distribution network in both the US and abroad. RTI (Alachua, Florida) believes these additional sales channels will help with the launch of its map3 cellular allogenic bone graft, due later this year.
