Executive Summary
Two projects of significance to the medtech and pharma sectors in Spain took centre stage last week in government discussions centred around healthcare cost-cutting. The planned national health technology assessment (HTA) agency, to be modelled on the UK’s NICE, has been formally approved for passage into law; and there is progress with the planned expansion of the centralised vaccines-purchasing “platform” to include medtech and pharma – a proposed list of target products is close to being unveiled.
