Spectranetics lands new CEO after eight-month search

Executive Summary
Scott Drake has been appointed president and CEO of medical laser specialist Spectranetics, a position that has lain vacant for over eight months. Mr Drake, who will take up his new role on 10 August, was previously senior vice-president of operations at dialysis clinic operator DaVita, which he joined in November 2009. Prior to this, he worked for Covidien for 17 years, where he held roles of increasing responsibility in various business units.
