Canada’s medical technology industry association, MEDEC, has appointed Barbara Leavitt as chair of the board of directors. Ms Leavitt, who replaced James Wilson, is general manager of Baxter Corporation, with responsibility for commercial operations in Canada and strategic initiatives for Latin America and Canada. The Toronto, Ontario-based association is in the process of replacing its president and CEO, Stephen Dibert, who retires in September, after eight years at the helm. A dedicated CEO search committee has issued a call for applications; the deadline is 30 June.
