Systagenix Wound Management (Gatwick, UK) has appointed Ernest Waaser CEO. Mr Waaser has led a number of large, multinational healthcare companies; he was most recently president of Teleflex Medical and prior to that, he was president and CEO of Hill-Rom. Mr Waaser replaces Steve Atkinson, who has been at the helm since Systagenix was created in December 2008 following the management buy-out of Ethicon's professional wound care business. The transaction was led by One Equity Partners. On leaving Systagenix, Mr Atkinson will continue to work with One Equity Partners as a consultant and advisor on medical device investments.
