Heads-up for UK peritoneal dialysis providers

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

UK providers of peritoneal dialysis may gain an opportunity to provide specific evidence on the technology as part of the current drafting of national clinical guidelines. In an update on the development of the guidance, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has said that the Short Clinical Guideline Technical Team (SCGTT) may make a “focused call for evidence on specific clinical questions”, usually giving stakeholders four weeks to respond. This would happen before the draft guideline is made available for consultation, which is expected to take place from 21 January to 18 February 2011. The guideline is scheduled to be published in July 2011.
