Carestream grows X-ray offering with Quantum acquisition

Executive Summary
Carestream Health has purchased X-ray specialist Quantum Medical Imaging for an undisclosed fee. The acquisition broadens Carestream’s offering to community hospitals and clinics. Quantum manufactures digital radiography, conventional X-ray systems, computed radiography systems and X-ray system components, and sells to hospitals, imaging centres, orthopaedic facilities and medical clinics. Quantum (Ronkonkoma, New York) will be integrated into Carestream’s digital medical solutions business. Scott Matovich, Quantum’s CEO, will continue to run the firm, as well as managing Carestream’s US dealer channel operations. Rochester, New York-based Carestream has a broad portfolio of digital imaging technology, picture archiving and communication systems and information management systems for the healthcare industry.
