Hospital equipment purchasing must reflect healthcare-associated infection (HAI) control considerations, a Scottish health board has been told. “The infection control team is to be involved in procurement decisions to ensure compliance with the HAI policies set by NHS QIS,” states a report published today by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) on an inspection of NHS Borders General Hospital.
