Cytori's PureGraft gets CE mark

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Cytori Theraputics has CE marked its PureGraft 250/Pure tissue processing system for sale in Europe. The product, which is used to prepare autologous fat grafts for re-implantation, can be used alone or with Cytori's Celution stem cell processing system, which the firm CE marked earlier this week (www.clinica.co.uk, 29 July 2010). Celution, which involves extracting a patient's own stem and regenerative cells from fat tissue to form a "cell-enriched" fat graft, is intended for breast reconstruction, and soft tissue and wound repair, as well as aesthetic procedures. PureGraft takes 15 minutes to purify a fat graft of 50-250ml, San Diego, California-based Cytori says. It received US FDA 510(k) clearance for aesthetic body contouring in January 2010.
