Executive Summary
Infectious disease diagnosis firm Molecular Detection is to make its Detect-Ready MRSA assay available in Spain after signing an exclusive distribution deal with Palex Medical. Detect-Ready is an off-the-shelf test that works at room temperature, unlike other existing diagnostics that require special handling. According to Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Molecular Detection, the test is compatible with rt-PCR systems such as Roche’s LightCycler, Qiagen’s Rotor-Gene and Cepheid’s SmartCycler. Detect-Ready is CE-marked and is already available in Germany, UK, Ireland, Switzerland and Austria. Financial terms of the collaboration were not disclosed.
