Heart Force Medical, a specialist in noninvasive cardiac monitoring, has promoted Sandy Burns to chief technology officer. Mr Burns is one of the firm’s longest-serving employees. He has over 19 years of experience in engineering development and implementation within the defence, telecommunications, air traffic management and video gaming industries, and has worked for companies including Marconi, EADS, Raytheon and Electronic Arts. Vancouver, Canada-based Heart Force is developing devices to assess cardiac performance by measuring and monitoring the mechanical action of the heart. Its Heart Force dBG 300 Digital Ballistocardiograph has received Health Canada approval US FDA 510(k) clearance.
