Ron Silverman joins KCI as vice-president

Ron Silverman has become the senior vice-president and chief medical officer of wound care firm Kinetic Concepts (KCI). In these new roles, he will be responsible for KCI’s global medical and clinical strategies. Dr Silverman, who has previously served on the company’s scientific advisory board, will lend the company his “expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, complex wound management, abdominal wall reconstruction and tissue engineering for reconstructive surgery”, said the San Antonio, Texas-based firm. Dr Silverman has also been on the staff at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he worked as chief of the division of plastic surgery and associate professor of surgery.
