Executive Summary
Spain's Health Ministry has launched its latest anti-HIV campaign, under the title "We are all equal in the face of AIDS". The campaign, which will cost Pta 225 million ($1.8 million), is targeting the whole population, particularly drug users, which now represent the largest number of HIV infected cases (see Clinica No 683, p 2). AIDS is the main cause of death in the 25 to 39 age group in Spain. In 1994, 6,395 new AIDS cases were recorded, bringing the total up to 34,618 since 1981, 80% of whom are men.
