Advanced Technology Laboratories' (ATL, US) Ultramark high definition imaging (HDI) ultrasound with 2D Doppler received a unanimous approval recommendation for use in evaluating breast masses from the FDA's Radiological Devices Advisory Panel at its December 11th meeting. The device was being considered for evaluating solid breast lesions greater than one centimetre to reduce the number of breast biopsies.
