Executive Summary
The appointment of Professor Vittorio Silano as head of the Italian Health Ministry's Medicines Division has been confirmed by the Ministry. The nomination is part of the restructuring proposed last November (see Clinica No 630, p 5). Professor Silano replaces Dr Bruno Sciotti, who has been named head of the department for services contracted out by the national health service. Professor Silano was formerly with the food and nutrition department.
