The UK market for reusable and disposable trocars could reach £9.7 million ($14.5 million) in 1995, according to Minimal Access ('Keyhole') Surgery and its Implications, a report produced by the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) report. The market nearly doubled between 1991 and 1992, from £3.3 million to £6.3 million, in parallel with the growth in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, but has since grown more slowly.
