Some BD 10 million ($26 million) is scheduled to be spent on medical equipment as part of the BD 35 million expansion of Sulmaniya Hospital in Bahrain. New services planned for the hospital include deep X-ray therapy and cancer diagnostic services. The pathology and radiology units will double in size, while the bed capacity of the intensive care and coronary care units will also double, say local press reports. The expansion will take place in three phases with completion scheduled for the end of 1996.
