Executive Summary
Bayer's healthcare division, which includes diagnostics, showed no growth in the first nine months of 1995 at DM 8,364 million ($5,870 million). When expressed in local currencies this represents growth of 9.5% but the German mark figure was forced down by the weak dollar. The Agfa division, which includes medical imaging systems, reported sales of DM 4,883 million, down 2.4% in DM terms and up 3.6% in local currencies. The company's total sales grew 3.8% to DM 34,027 million. Pre-tax earnings rose 39% to DM 3,304 million on last year.
