Executive Summary
"Meaningful regulatory reform legislation" must be enacted in the US before a US/EU Mutual Recognition Agreement can be concluded for medical devices. This was one of the recommendations to emerge from the Transatlantic Business Dialogue held in Spain on November 10th-11th. Over 100 business leaders, including representatives from the medical device industry, met in Seville to discuss ways in which barriers to trade could be removed (see Clinica No 678, p 6).
