Medtronic makes second purchase in neuro market

Medtronic has purchased Californian company Micro Interventional Systems to expand its neurobusiness into minimally invasive brain therapies. The deal comes just three weeks after Medtronic announced another purchase in the neurological field, PS Medical, market leader in neurosurgical implants. As with PS Medical, the latest acquisition is also a stock-swap at undisclosed terms. It is expected to be completed by the end of November.
