Nippon Zeon currently holds a 20% share of the Japanese market for intra-aortic balloon pumps. The company aims to increase this share to 40% within the next two years via a new distribution agreement with Nihon Kohden, says Japan Medical Review (October). Nippon Zeon's IABP will sell for ¥55,000 ($3,550) with the driving unit priced at Yen14.9 million. Nippon Zeon has annual sales of around Yen3,000 million.
