Vitatron Medical's Japanese subsidiary is to commence direct sales of the Dutch parent company's implantable cardiac pacemakers from January 1st, 1996. Vitatron Japan is currently responsible only for importation and marketing, while Baxter has undertaken distribution in Japan, says Japan Medical Review. Vitatron products accounted for around 3% of the Japanese pacemaker market in 1994 - the company aims to increase this share to 10%.
