A strong performance by Smiths Industries Medical Systems in the year ended August 5th, 1995, contributed to a 23% increase in corporate operating profits of £140.9 million ($211.4 million) on turnover up 17% to £899.3 million. Medical Systems contributed 45% of total operating profits, rising 34% to £63 million in the year. Turnover by the division rose 37% to £275.4 million.
