German company Stierlen-Maquet recorded a 7.7% increase in turnover to DM 268 million ($179 million) in 1994. However, net profits fell to DM 35,000 from DM 4.5 million in 1993 because of significant price cuts in both its medical equipment and industrial kitchens businesses. Stierlen-Maquet claims to be the worldwide market leader in operating tables and turnover in this area increased 8.8% to almost DM 211 million. The company believes the potential export market is worth more than 10,000 units or over DM 500 million. It expects moderate growth in all divisions during 1995.
