DHHS investigates WR Grace subsidiary:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

National Medical Care, the WR Grace subsidiary being spun off to the parent company's shareholders, is being investigated by the US Department of Health. According to the UK's Financial Times, the Department is looking at possible breaches of the law on healthcare payments, although Grace argues that NMC has complied with the necessary regulations. Three weeks ago, Clinica reported that National Medical Care's Lifechem clinical laboratory had to refund $4.9 million to Medicare for invoicing errors (see issue No 674, p 12).
