Siemens Medical Systems (US) has launched two new ranges of portable bedside monitors. The SC 6000 and SC 9000 monitors both use Siemens' Multimed pod, which integrates ECG, respiration, SpO(2) and temperature in a single cable. The 9000 series features a TFT-LCD colour screen and has a range of invasive pressure pods as well as optional NBP and etCO(2) modules. The 6000 series monitors offer IBP or NBP for higher levels of acuity. All the monitors collect 24 hours of patient information and generate trend data.
