Executive Summary
Diagnostic Testing (UK) has signed an exclusive UK and Ireland distribution agreement with Abaxis (US) to launch the Californian company's portable Piccolo whole-blood clinical chemistry analyser for near-patient testing. Providing a clinical chemistry profile in less than 15 minutes, the system is built around a disposable reagent rotor, which performs a panel of up to 12 individual tests (see Clinica No 600, p 16). Also incorporated are a built-in printer and a system memory capable of storing 100 samples.
