Executive Summary

French health expenditure rose 0.6% in July compared with the previous month to Fr 34,603 million ($6,785 million) continuing the upward trend since the beginning of the year. Overall health spending has risen 7.2% over the last 12 months. Expenditure on diagnostic tests grew 0.7% in July compared with a rise of 2.2% in June. Reimbursement by the national medical insurers CNAM for scanners was Fr 45.3 million, for MRI equipment Fr 14.7 million, pacemakers Fr 14.5 million and other internal prostheses Fr 211.6 million.
