Executive Summary
GU Medical Systems has been appointed sole UK distributor for Nuvotek's Dipolar QE2000 electrosurgical generator which operates without a dispersive plate electrode. Developed with Nuvotek of Leeds (UK), the unit is the first of a new generation of electrosurgical units (see Clinica No 667, p 14). Intelligent clinical algorithms and tissue impedance detection techniques ensure minimal artifactual damage, says GU. The unit eliminates potential patient burns and capacitive coupling and interference with ancillary equipment, such as cameras, ECG monitors and pulse oximeters.
