US conglomerate 3M saw net income increase 12% to $729 million in the first half and the company aims to increase full-year earnings by about 10%. Internationally, 3M says profits showed strong growth but economic softening slowed sales growth in the US and held back overall profit gain. 3M reported an 11% growth rate for revenues in the first half of the year. Sales rose to $8,222 million from $7,404 million in the comparable 1994 period.
