Executive Summary
The US Medical Device Manufacturers Association is claiming a victory for the industry in Texas where the medical device licensing law has been amended. A law based on the Texas House Bill No 2550 was passed on May 25th repealing licence fees for medical device wholesalers doing business in Texas but which are not located in the State. The scope of fees for Texan concerns has also been limited by narrowing the definition of wholesaler and an advisory board of consumer and industry representatives has been established.
