Laboratory budgets illegal says German court

The budgets applied to doctors' office diagnostic tests in Germany are illegal, according to a Hanover court. In agreeing a scheme whereby doctors are only reimbursed for category O I tests up to a set limit, paying for the rest personally, the Krankenkassen and Federal Doctors Association (KBV) exceeded their powers, ruled the Land Social Court. However, the judge did allow the case to be referred to the Federal Social Court.
