New Health Minister in restructured French government

Elisabeth Hubert has been named as France's Minister for Health and Health Insurance in Alain Juppe's new government. Ms Hubert is a GP and assistant general secretary of President Jacques Chirac's RPR party. The former Health and Social Affairs Ministry has been split up with the creation of a combined health and health insurance department. This will be divided into four divisions and five subdirectorates, combining health policy and financing.
