Executive Summary
Israeli companies Elscint and Phototonix Systems have entered into a joint venture to develop a multi-modality image processing workstation for CT, MRI and nuclear medicine. The venture, called Algotec Systems, will use a UNIX workstation with an accelerator board for fast reconstruction of images. The unit should also offer multi-planar reconstruction, angiography and 3-D imaging. Later versions will include superimposition, MRI cardiac diagnostics and dental applications.
