Executive Summary
Bosl Medizintechnik (Germany) has redesigned its Lympha-mat and Vasoflow compression systems for venous therapy. The devices now use a three-phase gradient system in which the three chambers of the compression sleeve are filled to 100%, 80% and 60% of the set treatment pressure in succession, starting at the feet. This forces fluid in the legs into the venous and lymphatic system. All three chambers are then simultaneously decompressed, exerting suction on the surface veins and improving metabolism and gas exchange, says Bosl.
