Executive Summary
Only those members of the UK Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists who have proved competent in laparoscopy may use this surgical technique, according to new guidelines published by the RCOG. Separate training in eye and hand co-ordination required to perform laparoscopy is recognised in the guidelines, which require attendance on a nationally approved course at one of the government-sponsored centres in London, Leeds or Dundee.
