Furon, a manufacturer of polymer components, is offering $23.50 for Medex shares in an acquisition that will cost Furon $160 million cash. Medex makes polymer based, critical-care products and, says Furon's chief executive Michael Hagan, the deal will put Furon in direct contact with purchasers of health care products.
