Boehringer Mannheim is in the process of selling its Indian subsidiary to Nicholas Pramal, one of India's largest pharmaceutical companies. German diagnostics and pharmaceutical manufacturer Boehringer is taking this step to disengage itself from a contamination affair at one of Boehringer's Indian drugs plants. The subsidiary will be merged with Nicholas Pramal which will act as distributor in India for Boehringer's products.
