Executive Summary
A 2mm diameter vascular graft for heart and postnecrotic tissue bypasses has been developed by researchers at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan. The graft is made from phospholipid-coated polyethylene terephthalate which has shown no thrombosis in rabbits. The researchers are now applying the phospholipid-coating to thrombus-free dialysis membranes and contact lenses, reports The Japan Medical Review (September).
