Althin's sales hit by US difficulties

After a poor performance in the US in 1995, Althin Medical saw sales fall 8.6% to SKr 376.3 million ($57 million) in the first six months of this year. The US continued to present problems for the Swedish dialysis equipment manufacturer, with sales to its largest US customer declining during the period. Costs incurred by the expansion of Althin's manufacturing capacity and the effects of the appreciating krona caused net income to fall 50.6% to SKr 11.9 million.
